shaped for how we experience tea today.
YANWU is a Chinese tea brand preparing to enter the UK market, bringing a locally rooted tea culture into a new cultural and commercial context.
The project was about more than establishing an online presence. It explored how YANWU could introduce its origins, products and values to a new audience, while creating accessible ways for people in the UK to discover, understand and purchase Chinese tea.
Website
Rather than translating Chinese tea culture through familiar visual symbols, we looked at the tea itself as the starting point — where it comes from, how it is made, and the people and landscapes behind it.
By bringing these stories closer to the product, YANWU could offer more than tea as something to purchase. It could give a new audience a way into the culture, craft and knowledge that shape each tea.
We developed a brand system that brings together the product, its origins and the culture surrounding Chinese tea, creating a consistent visual language for YANWU across different touchpoints.
The system extends across the website, product presentation, moving image and digital content. Photography and film bring the landscapes and tea-making processes into the brand experience, while typography, layout and motion create a contemporary framework for presenting these stories to a new audience.
Together, these elements allow YANWU to move consistently between storytelling and commerce — from discovering where a tea comes from and how it is made, to exploring the product and ultimately purchasing it.
